Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These terms apply when you use PixTrace at pixtrace.net. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use PixTrace.
1. Who we are
PixTrace is run by Kaspar ter Glane trading as PixTrace, based in England. Our address is 107 Camberwell Grove, London, SE5 8JH. You can reach us at hello@pixtrace.net.
2. What PixTrace does
PixTrace turns photos into clean, CAD-style line drawings that you can download as SVG or DXF files. By default you get a clean drawing of the main lines. The Detailed option adds more texture and fine detail, and the Cutout option isolates just the main subject as a closed shape with a solid fill and no background, so it drops straight into another drawing and hides whatever is behind it, with no trimming needed. PixTrace uses AI models to interpret your photo and produce the drawing.
3. Your account
You need an account to convert photos. You must be 13 or over to use PixTrace. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to subscribe. Please keep your password safe, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
4. Credits
Each conversion uses one credit.
- Free trial. New accounts get 5 free credits.
- Standard plan. $10 a month for 30 credits.
- No rollover. Your balance resets to 30 at each renewal. Unused credits don't carry over.
- Failed conversions. If a conversion fails because of a fault on our side, or your photo is declined by our AI provider's content rules, your credit is refunded automatically. If something goes wrong and you think your credit should be refunded, please contact us.
- One at a time. You can run one conversion at a time.
- Download promptly. Your drawing is kept on our systems for about 15 minutes, then deleted. Download the SVG or DXF while it's on screen. We don't keep copies.
Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred or exchanged for money.
5. Payments and cancelling
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices are in US dollars, so if your card is in another currency, your bank may add a small conversion fee.
Your subscription renews every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time: log in and use "Manage subscription" on the convert page, or email us and we'll cancel it for you. After cancelling, you can keep using your remaining credits until they run out, and you won't be charged again.
Cancelling within 14 days. If you cancel within 14 days of starting a subscription, we'll refund the conversions from your first payment that you haven't used yet. Just email hello@pixtrace.net.
Price changes. If we change the price of the Standard plan, we'll email subscribers at least 30 days before the new price applies, so you can cancel before then if you prefer.
Questions about a charge. If you think you've been charged by mistake, please contact us first at hello@pixtrace.net and we'll sort it out.
6. Your photos and your drawings
You keep ownership of the photos you upload. You give us permission to process them only to create your drawing.
The drawings PixTrace creates for you are yours to use, including commercially, as far as the law allows. We don't claim ownership of them, and we transfer to you any rights we may have in them.
You must only upload photos you have the right to use. If a photo shows other people, or someone else's work, it's up to you to have their permission where needed.
Each drawing is made fresh from your photo, and we never share it with anyone. But AI can produce similar results from similar photos, so we can't promise your drawing is unique. Other people may own drawings that look like yours.
You're responsible for the photos you upload and for how you use your drawings. If someone makes a claim against us because you uploaded a photo you didn't have the right to use, or because of how you used a drawing, you'll be responsible for any loss or reasonable costs this causes us.
The PixTrace name and logo, the website and the software behind it belong to us. Using PixTrace doesn't give you any rights in them. PixTrace isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Autodesk, McNeel (Rhino), Adobe or the other companies whose software we mention. We name them only to describe which files work where.
7. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use PixTrace for anything unlawful, or upload content that is illegal, sexual, hateful, violent or harmful
- upload photos of other people without the right to do so
- try to get around credit limits, rate limits or security, or use scripts or bots to access the service
- disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service
- share your login, or resell or give others access to PixTrace
- use PixTrace to mass-produce drawings to sell or give away as digital files
Our AI provider has its own rules on prohibited content, and some photos may be refused for that reason. We may suspend accounts that break these rules. If you upload illegal content, we'll close your account straight away and may report it to the authorities.
8. About AI-generated drawings
Drawings are created by AI and can contain mistakes: missing or extra lines, distorted shapes, or details that weren't in your photo. They are not measured, to-scale technical drawings. Please check any drawing before you rely on it, especially for manufacturing, construction or anything safety-related.
If a downloaded SVG or DXF file won't open in standard design or CAD software, contact us and we'll refund the credit.
9. Availability
We work to keep PixTrace running well, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, improve or remove features over time.
10. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit or exclude. If you're a consumer, you also keep your legal rights.
Otherwise, we're not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or for business losses such as lost profits. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £200.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using PixTrace and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@pixtrace.net. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless we're legally prevented from doing so. We may also close an account for other reasons, with reasonable notice. If you've done nothing wrong, we'll refund the current month of your subscription. If we ever close PixTrace altogether, we'll give subscribers notice and refund the current month.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by email or on the website at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless it's needed sooner by law or doesn't disadvantage you. We may also transfer PixTrace and these terms to another business, or to a company we set up to run it. We'll tell you if we do, and it won't reduce your rights.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you're a consumer living outside the UK, you also keep any rights your local law gives you.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms? Email hello@pixtrace.net.
15. Reporting content or rights issues
We don't publish or share the photos you upload or the drawings you create. If you believe something on our website, such as an example image, infringes your copyright or other rights, email hello@pixtrace.net with:
- the content concerned and where it appears
- the rights you hold in it
- your contact details
We'll review your report promptly and remove the content where appropriate. If we receive a credible report that an account is being used to infringe someone else's rights, we may suspend it.
